2016 - 2023
As a guitarist I know what a guitar pick should look and feel like, as a craftsman I always wanted to make all my picks by myself. I started ePick in 2014 when I discovered the market for custom, handmade, low-quantity guitar picks, and I operated the firm until 2019. During this time, I researched and developed different styles and experimented with different materials. I made the product completely personalisable with special surface printing, screen printing or laser engraving, depending on the surface and material, which made each product unique. The customer orders ranged from small orders of 5-10 pieces to large orders of 10,000 for festivals.
One case led me to research the impact of osteoarthritis, tendinitis, and carpal tunnel syndrome on musicians. These conditions cause pain and numbness, often forcing players to give up their instruments. I learned that redesigned tools could help rewire muscle memory, so based on that I developed an unconventional guitar pick — thicker, pointier, and drop-shaped to activate different muscle groups.
